What is FCEA?

Spanish Club Sponsors,

Thank you for the investment you have made in the lives of your students by the sharing of another language and its culture. I am excited to introduce you to la Federación de los Círculos de Español de Alabama (FCEA). Our organization’s mission is to help your students explore the language and culture at a deeper level.

FCEA is a non-profit organization that annually provides middle school and high school students throughout the state of Alabama with an opportunity to come together and showcase their talents within the language and culture in a friendly, yet competitive environment. Membership of FCEA allows student exposure to various aspects of culture that will enhance the traditional classroom experience. Students who participate in these competitions gain self-confidence in their use of the language when allowed to practice with others at their same level.

The University of Montevallo will be hosting our competition this spring. At that time, students may compete in various levels of academics, culture bowl, art and talent to demonstrate individuality and a passion for learning. Students are also introduced to various programs offered at the University of Montevallo that are designed for more in-depth study of the language and culture. FCEA invites your school and Spanish Club members to join and take part in the 2023 competition that will be held on April 28, 2023.

Saludos y Bienvenidos,

Kyla Kortright

Presidenta de FCEA
